Last night I discovered how well my $20 Old Navy jeans were made: the button's not quite in the middle. I kept trying to twist them so they'd be straight, but they weren't made that way. I wonder if anyone else will notice.

I woke up with a headache this morning.

I really don't want to go to work today, except I would like to talk to Donnita - she and Nan and Lisa and Debbie had a meeting, and some of it was about me, but Lisa didn't tell me about it. Donnita told me a snippet of their conversation on her way out yesterday afternoon, but I want to know more. If they're going to put me back in the mailroom full time I'd like to know about it.

People drive stupidly.

I've been reading lots of discussions/arguments in the weddingplans community about wedding budgets. I thought that since they're older threads, I'd post my opinion here instead, for posterity. :)

We really don't have a budget at this point. I'm hoping to keep it under $1000, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do that. The people in the weddingplans community were talking about how a "normal" wedding costs about $20,000. As my good friend Cory G. says, "WTF?!?!" I have no idea how people can spend that much money on one day. Well, I can - parents. But besides that, I don't see how anyone would want to pay that much money on a wedding. That said, if I had $20,000 to spend on a wedding without having to worry about anything else (rent, car payments, whatever), I'd probably spend that much. But I'm glad I've got such a small budget to work with. Weddings are about the bride and groom, and a proclamation of how much they love each other. They're kind of like baptisms, in a way: you get up in front of the people you love and proclaim your love for someone. You don't see people wearing a $2000 smock to get dunked in the water - why should you wear a $2000 dress that you're just going to put in a box and forget about after wearing it for eight hours? Our wedding is going to be personal, romantic, and US. That's the most important part. We're going to make everything, from invitations to dresses to favors. And I can't imagine it any other way.

I have nothing to do. I've had nothing to do since I finished posting last time. I can't go home because I still have forty minutes before I'm supposed to be off. But I'm not going to start on anything because I don't feel like it. (I was going to make up a good excuse and then realized nobody's going to care because none of you is my boss.) And Nena is in a meeting, so she can't give me any more little projects, so I think I'll just go home in ten minutes or so. My boss is gone too, for the afternoon. Ha.

Man, with everybody gone, it feels like Friday! I hate that!
