(no subject)

I heard the coyotes again last night. Hearing coyotes while sleeping in one's bed in the middle of Portland is a weird experience. Though I guess we're not in the MIDDLE of Portland. There's a lot of farmland up north and west of us. And how far away can you hear coyotes? A mile or something? Anyway, they woke me up. There was a lot of barking and howling from far away. And when I drifted back to sleep I dreamed that I was trying to get back inside my house but the coyotes (which ended up being wolves in my dream) were surrounding me and I couldn't get in. So I tried pelting them with pine cones, which worked until it got dark and I couldn't see the coyotes/wolves anymore.

I also woke up in the middle of the night to Trout playing with the TV antenna. When she saw me lift my head, she jumped right down from the dresser and jumped right up onto the bed and put her nose in my face. I like the way kitties smell. Mmm.
