For my Oregon friends:

Cory and I really enjoy Agate Beach, near Newport, and we used to go there all the time when we were dating and he lived in Corvallis. We thought it might be nice to take a day trip out to the beach via 26 from Portland, but we don't know of any good beaches so far north of Lincoln City. Does anyone have any suggestions? We'd like to find a place that doesn't have too many people on it (I know, it'll be hard this weekend, but I mean more that we don't want to go to Seaside or anything), is dog-friendly as Remmy has far too much energy, and if you could recommend a good restaurant nearby that'd be a nice bonus. :)
