Last night's dream: Cory had long hair and he told me he was ready to cut it off because it was always tangled. I told him I'd get the dog shears, but he wasn't quite ready that second. Weird thing is that I couldn't see the long hair on his head, it was all short, but he was holding the hair in his hands and it was attached to his head, I just couldn't tell how.

Last night Mom called a couple of times and had me play Wake Up little Suzie for her. She's got to get up in front of 300 people at a Republican convention this weekend (with a couple of congresswomen and such) and sing a badly-written song to the tune of Wake Up. I feel bad for her. She doesn't know the song and the words are so bad that she can hardly tell where in the song she is. Before we hung up, I asked if she wanted me to play it one more time, and she said "no... I'll just stand in the back." :(

Tonight: Starsky and Hutch AND Hidalgo.

Work had better go by quickly.

I thought I was going to be bored today. I forgot to take Mrs. Boyle's 80th birthday into consideration.

Today, Arnold Schwartzenegger should be calling here to wish her a happy birthday.

Today, she will be getting multiple flower arrangements and gifts, which I will be delivering to her office when they come in.

Today, the media will be covering her party, which starts at about 2:30. I'm cutting cake. I ought to change if I'm going to be on TV. Various other important people will be stopping by. I wonder if they're going to be important to me or just to her. 'Cause it'd be pretty neat if someone famous came in.

Apparently, she's got a cake coming in from a bakery in Hood River, too. They're coming at about noon and taking up a conference room to assemble the thing. Apparently it takes TWO HOURS to assemble. Yikes. This is why I had pie at my wedding reception. :D

So it'll be busy today, I guess, after all.

I wonder what I should change into.

Dear Parents,

When you decide to take your children to a movie, you must first teach your child common respect. Respect involves being quiet so that people sitting around you aren't distracted. Respect involves shutting up when those people sitting around you are distracted enough to shush you. Each of those people in the theatre with you have paid a lot of money to be where they are. Those people deserve to be able to watch the entire movie. If your children tend to ask you stupid question after stupid question in a row, particularly in quiet parts of a movie, perhaps it's better to leave them home; or at the very least, don't answer them as loudly as they asked you. And if your children tend to either read subtitles out loud, or yell out "gross!!!" or some other "witty" remark, that would also be a situation in which you would leave them at home.

Bottom line: the movie theatre is NOT YOUR LIVING ROOM. If you can't shut up, wait the extra month to rent the movie, and talk all you want to.
