Happy stop smoking day to my husband!!

Last year in March sometime we were talking about how we needed to start eating better and exercising, and Cory decided he'd stop smoking as well. Our target date was April 1st, but when he ran out of cigarettes on the 19th he didn't really want to get more, so he stopped that day instead.

Last night I made him a stop-smoking-day cherry pie with a no smoking sign on top in pie crust. It's not gorgeous, but it was a big surprise to Cory - he thought I was making Haley's birthday cake. :) Someday I'll post a picture - I took one before I took him into the kitchen to show it to him.

Well, I did it. I had a little meeting with Lisa and I gave her my notice. I don't think she was surprised - she supervises entry-level positions, and with the exception of Phyllis and Donnita she expects her employees to move up in the company or go somewhere else. But my hands were all shaky and I had a lump in my throat. :)

I don't know why I have such a hard time with things like that. I know that this happens a lot, and it's just business, and all that stuff. But at the same time I don't like letting people down, especially when they've been so good to me. Sigh.

But anyway, that's one more stress-inducer to put behind me, and I can focus on finding apartments and jobs and such, and not worry about whether someone's standing behind me if I mention anything about moving at work.
