Julia Child died today!

I'm actually kind of surprised she lasted this long. She's looked pretty bad on her show for the last several years.

Next weekend is the Ryan family reunion, up in Wapato, Washington. Cory and I have taken time off from work so we can go camping on Friday and Saturday, and then go to the reunion (and then drive home) on Sunday. Provided we have the money to buy enough camping food. The plan (right now - it may change) is to get up early on Friday morning (I think I'm closing Thursday night, which means I can't go to bed that early, but that's OK), driving to Portland where we will pick up the camp chairs Cory's brother has been borrowing from us, and proceed to Cottonwood Campground about 40 miles west of Yakima. We will set up camp, hopefully find a good place for the dog to swim, and we'll probably work on our final essays for our class. On Saturday we will hike to Boulder Cave where hopefully we will remember our flashlights so we can go inside this time. I'm not sure what else we'll do - depends on money and boredom. We might spend Saturday night in the orchard in Wapato, but that also depends on money.

Tomorrow's grocery day - so I'll ask everyone now: What do you like to eat when you're camping, both for dinner and for breakfast? I'm a little tired of the hot dog thing, so I'd like to try something new.

Yesterday I went to west Salem to my aunt's new house, and helped paint. I painted a bunch of cabinet doors, and then taped off the trim in her living room and painted the walls a kind of butterscotch-y color - a little darker. It's cute. I did a bunch of other odd jobs, like screwing drawer pulls on drawers, too. I worked for about 6 hours, and then came home. But I got the bug - I wanted to come home and paint, or just buy a house and paint that. :D

I want to go to Seattle. But not right now, it's too hot. I want to go at the end of October. But I want NOW to be the end of October.
