(no subject)

So, I'm making a candy corn hat for Cory to wear on Halloween. I have yellow and white but no orange, so I went to two different places to find orange yarn. You'd think that with this being a very college-centric town (OSU's colors are orange and black) and with it being Halloween soon (which is also orange and black) that there would be at least SOME orange yarn SOMEWHERE in this city. Nope. That means I have to order it online. Boo.

In other news, school starts tonight. Yay. As far as I know, I only have to go to the one class (math!) tonight and then I have independent study at home, which I'm pretty happy about. Though it will be interesting to try to schedule time to work on homework. I'm not used to that, really. Cory's class starts tomorrow morning - he's got an ecology class. So he'll be out of the house two mornings a week. Maybe that'll help me get going in the mornings a little better.

We watched Meet the Parents last night. I'd never seen it before. It wasn't my favorite - some parts of it were OK but it wasn't all that funny. It's one of Cory's favorite Ben Stiller movies though. I also rented Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park, and will probably watch that tonight if I have time between class and sleep.

OK, off to order some orange yarn, and then off to work. (I just typed sleep. Heh)

School and yarn woes

OK, so we'll get the short one out of the way. Yarn. I spent $5.98 on two skeins of orange yarn. The shipping and handling was $5.95! What's up with that?? Almost 10% shipping and handling?! Oh well, I guess I should have checked before I bought it. But yarn is light. It doesn't need that much S&H.

Long one, now. Went to class and it was super boring. Got some software that they recommend I use. It's not compatible on Macs. (Cory's going to try to get me Virtual PC and hopefully it works on that.) And the teacher said "you need a packet with all of your assignments in it, just go downstairs after class and buy it." So I went downstairs and asked for it and they have two, and I needed my CRN. Of course I didn't have it with me, who has their CRN with them all the time? But I didn't feel like going around and looking it up on some computer somewhere so I just came home. I'll check tomorrow maybe.

And now I'm going to go get Dairy Queen. Maybe they have pumpkin Blizzards now. Except I don't think I'm in the mood for one. I think I may have a Peanut Buster Parfait instead.
