Nov. 17th, 2005 08:27 amThe other day I noticed that the carpet in the hallway was damp. I didn't think too much of it, though I did smell it to make sure it wasn't cat pee or something. But it wasn't.
Then when I left for work there was a sign on the laundry room door that said "do not use the washer! The drain isn't draining!" The washer drains into the utility sink in there, which sometimes gets plugged with lint. I didn't think much of it either, 'cause I didn't need to do laundry yet.
This morning I went into the laundry room to see if anything had been fixed. (I'm not sure if anybody else ever calls the landlord when there are problems or if they just put signs on the washer and leave it for the fairies to magically fix it.) There was a sign on the washer reiterating the warning, and I looked in the utility sink to see if it was just a big piece of lint.
There was a sock in the drain.
