(no subject)

So, I called Cory's sister to talk to the nieces and wish them merry Christmases and all that stuff. They didn't answer the phone, so when the voice mail picked up I put it on speakerphone and we said merry Christmas and then I shut the phone to hang up and we talked about how that was a dorky message and how we needed to call Cory's mom next and blah blah. And I opened the phone again and realized it was still on speakerphone - it doesn't turn off when you shut the phone like it does when you're not on speakerphone. And I didn't know how to erase the message we made, so I hung up. And now we're going to sound like idiots and Lisa is going to have a good laugh. :D

(no subject)

My Surprise Cookies are on racks, cooling down so I can frost them later and hide the surprise (half a marshmallow). I'm taking a break and then I'll go frost when they're all cool and then I'll start the chocolate malt sandwich cookies. I hope nobody minds that they're not completely round. :)

Last night Trout woke me up at 3:30 retching, crouching on the bed. I sat up and put my hand under her mouth, and caught her puke, and washed it off in the bathroom sink. It was just bubbly spit. She did it to me again an hour later, and I caught it again, and washed it off again. I did a pretty good job of keeping it off the bed, which was nice, because who likes to get up in the middle of the night to strip the bed? Is it sad that I'm proud of myself for being able to catch it in the dark? Ha.

I'm surprised that these cookies were so easy. I had troubles with ingredients last night and it was really frustrating but it's not so bad today. I took the iPod and speakers into the kitchen and listened to Christmas music while I was doing it, and while they were baking I even washed all the dishes so they're ready for the next batch. Go me.

I decided to create a yarn blog, for people (mostly CrochetMe users) who want to see just the crochet and knitting content that I write about. It won't be anything that isn't also posted here, but I'm saving it here for posterity anyway.

Cory and I just pretended that it was Christmas morning!

Cory got three pairs of socks, A Bug's Life DVD, and The Physics of Superheroes book from me.

I think I won for best loot, though. He got me two DVDs: The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz, pot scrapers (yes, they were on my Christmas list - I'm not a kid anymore, that's for sure!), and black pearl earrings and a necklace. They're gorgeous!
