(no subject)

Yesterday the phone rang at work, and I answered it.

Me: Good morning, Columbia Sportswear...
Him: Hey, is my wife there?
Me: Um... who is she?
Him: Oh, ____. We're separated, but I just found out I really DO have cancer, and I figured she should know about it.

Eek! What am I supposed to say to a stranger on the phone who says that?! I just told him I was sorry and sent him over to the distribution center, where his wife works.
