I am SICK. Sick sick sick. I didn't get much sleep two nights ago - woke up several times - and by morning I had a fever and my chest was so full of gunk that I could barely breathe. It was NO fun. I called in sick and my boss called me later because he didn't listen to his messages and was wondering where I was.
I could breathe best sitting up straight but that hurt my lower back because of the achy fever and I couldn't get comfortable no matter what I did. Luckily my coughs were productive, and that eased the congestion for a minute or two every time. I took a couple of naps, though even going upstairs would make me out of breath and lying down would make me less able to breathe. The fever finally broke during a nap in the late afternoon, and I was able to sit up a lot better after that.
Then of course the dang thing moved up to my nose as well, so I'm just full of snot. Ugh. In the middle of the night last night I was able to breathe much better, and today I feel like breathing is easier, but I still have lots of gunk in there.
This morning I still feel icky but I'm valiantly going to work. I need to write invoices, I'm sure, and I'll just wait and see how the day goes - maybe I'll leave early.
